Manus McDermott and Peter Frisby presented a cheque for £640
to Fr.Patrick McCallion, the Director of Promotions of the
St.Patrick’s Missionary
Society, when they met him at East Molesey on Tuesday 1st July. This was the sum of money raised at the
recent Alternate Benny O’Shea Golf Classic day at Ifield golf course. The total
amount will be forwarded to the All Faiths Group working in the Bauchi area of
Nigeria. You
will know from the reports in the various media sources recently that this is an area in
great need of help.
As
the name suggests this is a group of missionary’s from all faiths, Christian
and Others working together under the
leadership of Fr. Leo Traynor from the St. Patrick’s Missionary Society. By
sending the money this way we ensure there are no charges or commission to pay
and that they get the full amount.
